What Get Financially Fit feels like

Learning to manage your money is a key skill for a business owner and in this program it’s practical and applicable to your business straight away. The lessons are simple and powerful, and you might be suprised by how much you learn and create in just ten weeks. The small group is welcoming, uplifting and safe, and you’ll love hearing from other small business owners who have similar challenges and desires as you. The curriculum suits a variety of learning styles and you can do the whole program on your own or join the live Q&A sessions to support your own learning.

Who am I to teach you about finances, anyway?

I’m Fi Johnston, and I’m a Chartered Accountant and advocate for purpose-led business. My craft has been honed over more than 20 years working exactly where I always wanted to be: small business. I could tell you that I know exactly how to map out your business so that it’s profitable and impactful. Or I could explain that I’m a gentle, caring soul who loves teaching what I know. But what I really want you to know is that I am a communicator. My real skill lies in turning complex numbers guff into words and tools that make sense. I’m proud of how much my clients and students have learned, and how easily they’ve applied that to their businesses.

Your Curriculum

  • We start where all good businesses begin: the reason why you started your business and what’s important to you.

  • We learn all about financial literacy. Not only will you understand your financial reports, you’ll also assess your own financial health.

  • We’ll challenge the thoughts in your head about money and build new beliefs and habits to help your business thrive.

  • We’ll talk about the thing that causes the most business failure: poor cash flow, and you’ll gain practical tools to tame your cash.

  • We’ll talk about the levers you can pull to increase your income and you’ll feel confident about raising and setting your prices.

  • We create your 3 year financial roadmap by mapping your income, expenses and profit. Building the business you want to lead.

  • I’ll teach you to monitor your financial results to keep yourself moving forward. You want to know exactly how your business is tracking.

  • You’ll create your own Business Design, taking you through the steps you’ll need to take for the next 12 months to achieve your goals and grow the business you want to lead.

  • One of the best ways to get clear about what you want to achieve is to create a business plan/design and then present it. This helps you to stay accountable to getting what you can from the program and putting your intentions and goals out into the world. This is voluntary and you can choose to share as much or as little as you like in a safe and confidential space.

    • On demand modules released weekly to work through solo

  • The program is designed for solo and small business owners at least a few years into business. Most of our members are creative professionals - think photographers, copywriters, hairdressers, marketers, small agencies, retail stores and makers.

  • It sure is. Making money is the goal, how we do that? Understanding your numbers, getting clear about your goals and making great financial decisions with the right info at your fingertips.

  • Our next live round runs from Monday 10 July to Friday 15 Sep 2023. Live Zoom sessions will run twice a week during that 10 weeks, on Wed 1 - 2 pm and Fri 1030 - 1130 am AEST.

  • We’ll be using excel templates to create your three-year financial plan, so a basic knowledge of excel will be required. You don’t need to be an advanced user or even like excel, don’t stress.

    You’ll also need to have a bookkeeping system in place. My instructions will focus on Xero but you can use any bookkeeping system as long as you are able to extract details from it via excel or copy and paste.

  • This program is for you if you feel in the dark about your numbers and want to understand them. You wnat to be making more money and feeling more organised with your numbers but you have no idea where to start.

    You might be scared about joining and that’s ok. Once you get inside the program you’ll realise that Fi is very supportive and chill, and you will not be judged. Many of the other folks in there probably feel the same way you do about your finances.

    The investment in the program might feel like a stretch for you, but it should not put you into financial difficulty. It’s a phenomenal investment that will keeping paying for itself for the rest of your life, but you shouldn’t be going into high interest debt to access it.

  • All sessions are recorded and made available shortly after the live. You can complete the program without ever attending a live session, but this would be a shame! The live sessions are when you can ask questions, integrate what you’re learning and get to know the other participants. Showing up each session is also a great way to be accountable to yourself and make sure you complete the work.

  • Firstly, I am sorry that someone made you feel that way in the past. Chances are that you just haven’t had things explained in the right way or given the time to absorb the financial know-how at your pace. If you feel this way, I can 100% guarantee that others in the program will be feeling that way too. It’s my mission to change that for you, so you can feel confident talking numbers with anyone.
